Trials riders develop like a secret tool belt of tricks that they can use in all kinds of mountain bike situations. Balance is always at work in mountain bike, downhill, dirt jumping etc. However, balance developed without the need for centrifugal force, in other words, static balance goes to work the moment the bike stops moving or rolls very slow. To put all this in perspective, imagine having to stop on a super steep pitch and redirecting or pivoting in a super tight trail or jumping across a gap or from obstacle to obstacle. Trials riders have a skill-set that supports all the other areas of mountain biking. Day one of this mountain bike camp is about balance, control, focus.

The Trials section at dirt camp in Racine is one of the few balance / trials sections in Quebec. It’s not big but well designed for the development of core strength and mental focus and low speed bike control. Jeff Silas, was a leader in trials in Quebec and his skills translate to the terrain, his knowledge translates to his campers.
